Family Supports

We help kids grow, and we help parents find the resources they need to be great parents.

Home-based services:

Early Head Start

Futures provides home-based services and child care to low-income, pregnant women in Sumner County and their children 0 to 4. The name says it all. Early education, family support, home visits, child care-center visits and complete health and mental health services spell jump start for these women and their children.

Head Start®

Head Start is a national school readiness program. It provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.

Parents as Teachers

Pregnant women or families living in the Wellington school district with children 0 to 5 are eligible for home-based services or education in a home-based setting.

tiny-k early intervention

This home-based service serves families with infants and toddlers from birth to 3 who have developmental delays or disabilities. An assessment team works with you to develop a plan for your child and family goals.

Center-based supports:

Developmental screenings

Child Check offers families a quick snapshot of a child’s ability to learn, speak, move, see and hear. Referrals are made when a child needs further evaluation or special services.

Preschool

Our inclusive preschool programs in Wellington, Caldwell, Conway Springs and South Haven serve kids 3 to 5. Specific preschool services―Head Start, special education, at-risk and mental health―are designed to serve the unique needs of the kids in our communities.

Support for child care providers

Early Head Start works with child care professionals to provide care for children 0-4 years old whose parents are working or going to school. This support includes child development education, a variety of resources, and mentoring for the professional while she is working toward her CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher education.
