Then & Now: Former Futures preschool student gives back
January 2010 - Kayla Janney got her start with Futures at the age of 2. In 1988 Futures launched the infant/toddler program and Kayla was one of seven children the new program served. In 1989, when Kayla turned 3 she attended the first preschool classroom at Futures. At the age of 6 Kayla started kindergarten in the Wellington school system and in 2006 she graduated from Wellington High School.
Now, 20 years after Kayla attended preschool here, she has gotten involved with Futures in a variety of ways. Kayla spends her mornings volunteering in the Futures Preschool and her afternoons working in (nine zero six) Futures’ vocational program. She also has a job with USD 353 serving lunch at an elementary school. She is currently serving as the treasurer of Aktion Club, a branch of the Kiwanis family. And she is a member of Advocated in Action.
Futures is very proud of Kayla and all of her achievements!
