Back to School Breakfast Raises Needed Funds for Individuals Served by Futures
August 2013 - As the sun peaked over the horizon early on August 16th, Barefoot Jerry’s--Wellington’s ‘pub ‘n grub’ eatery and bar located at 214 N Washington--was opening up at a most unusual hour.
August 16th marked Futures Unlimited’s annual Back to School Breakfast with Barefoot Jerry, a benefit for the men, women, children and families served through and by Futures. From 7-10 am patrons enjoyed a tasty breakfast skillet, a side of fruit and a cinnamon roll over a cup of coffee or orange juice – all for just five dollars. Many dined in and were served by Futures staff members. But even more took the breakfast to-go.
“While we would have loved to have seen more folks dine in with us, we met our ticket sales goals and raised over $1,500 which goes directly to the folks needing our supports and services in Sumner County,” says Trisha Logan, Futures’ communications coordinator. “We truly enjoy partnering with Jerry and his crew for this event and couldn’t have been more pleased with how quickly and efficiently Jerry cooked up 150+ meals.”
Futures is Sumner County’s preferred provider of disability supports and services as well as early intervention and preschool supports.
